Due to our continuous growth and expansion efforts, Bystronic is actively searching for a highly skilled and motivated On-Site Engineer to join our team.

As an On-Site Engineer for Bystronic Australia, based in Sydney, you will play a crucial role in the successful implementation of large-scale installations and commissioning of Bystronic machines at various customer sites, ensuring that it is done efficiently and effectively.

The primary objective of this position is to ensure that projects are completed to the customer’s satisfaction, from the initial stages to the final completion.

This will involve liaising with both customers and Bystronic engineers to coordinate the project and address any technical requirements or challenges that may arise during the installation process.

Once the installation is complete, your role will extend to providing ongoing support to customers, ensuring the smooth operation of the installed machines. This means being hands-on and actively involved in providing technical advice, feedback, and assistance as needed to ensure the optimal performance of the
machines. 

Your expertise in project management and sheet metal processing, particularly with Bystronic machines, will be essential in executing projects on time and within the allocated budget. You will be responsible for developing detailed project plans, managing resources, and coordinating with supervisor, staff, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure a seamless workflow.

Responsibilities include:

• Hands-on installation and commissioning of Bystronic equipment.
• Executing projects within set timelines and budgets, adhering to project goals and scope.
• Develop detailed project plans, including work breakdown structure and resource allocation.
• Provide hands-on guidance and support to customer personnel during and after installation.
• Promoting effective communication and collaboration among project team members, stakeholders, and management.
• Coordinating with supervisors, staff, subcontractors, and suppliers to plan schedules.
• Training will be provided to enhance skills, and there will be the opportunity for growth within the company.
• Display excellent communication skills to manage day to day tasks.
• Planning and recommending procedures to ensure compliance with Bystronic engineering design and specifications.
• Reviewing and providing input/training to the construction engineers and associated personnel.
• Maintaining a positive relationship with clients and stakeholders.
• Ensuring all work meets safety standards and relevant regulations.
• Being a proactive team member showing initiative.

Qualifications and skills required for the role:

• Substantial professional experience in a related field.
• Prior experience as an engineer with project management expertise is highly advantageous.
• Demonstrated leadership in a team-based environment.
• Mechanical trade qualifications and/or post trade experience preferred.
• Knowledge of Bystronic machines highly advantageous.
• Strong organizational and time management skills, with a keen eye for detail.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
