In a nutshell

The 2nd Level Support Engineer will be the main point of contact for Bystronic subsidiaries when it comes to technical issues and escalation cases that cannot be resolved at the local level.

What you will be doing

  • Lead and promote the Bystronic culture, mindset and values.
  • Provide support to the local 1st level, Market Region and customers in all Bystronic products and solutions.
  • Provide support/cover for the relevant Competence Center 2nd level.
  • Handle communication for technical issues between the local Bystronic organization and the relevant Competence Center.
  • Manage and cooperate with local Bystronic Service organizations.
  • Manage heavy technical tasks together with the local service team.
  • Manage/execute a wide variety of support issues, including on-site customer visits for complex cases.
  • Coordinate with the relevant Competence Center interventions of specialists when required and collaborate with colleagues worldwide.
  • Take an active role in the roll out of the World Class Services Projects.
  • Provide solutions to improve and enhance Bystronic products.
  • Diagnose and adjust parameters of CNC/PLC systems and handle different technologies on a regular basis.
  • Train and mentor employees in technical and soft skills.

Your education & experience

  • Technical school (or equivalent) required; bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering is an advantage.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a technical field and service role.
  • Proven track record in a similar industrial environment.

What you need to succeed

  • Strong technical expertise in mechanical and electrical engineering.
  • Ability to diagnose, adjust and update systems (CNC/PLC, bus-systems, servo and drive systems).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to simplify complex technical issues.
  • Problem-solving mindset with flexibility and composure under pressure.
  • Ability to train, mentor, and support teams globally.
  • Knowledge of IT/Software: DMS, CRM, LMS, SAP, SQL, OPC-UA, networking, Microsoft Windows.
  • Safety awareness in high voltage and high pressurized systems.
  • Ability to travel 80-90% across the US.
