News Wilfried de Backer Named Bystronic Chief Service Officer
Wilfried de Backer has been named Bystronic’s Chief Service Officer, effective October 1, 2025. He succeeds Eamon Doherty, who left the company in early September.
Wilfried de Backer joins Bystronic from Rieter AG, a textile machinery manufacturer, where he has served as Senior Vice President, After Sales Operations.
Prior to Rieter, he served as General Manager of Spare Parts Delivery for General Electric Service in Switzerland and Director of Manufacturing Operations for Alstom Power Service (later acquired by General Electric) in the USA.
Wilfried de Backer brings a wealth of global leadership experience to this critical role and will also serve as a member of the Executive Board at Bystronic.
