Founded in 1951 and headquartered in Vänersborg, Västra Götaland (Sweden), VBG Truck Equipment AB is a global reference in innovative trailer coupling technologies.
As part of the inauguration of their new Bystronic cutting center, Mr. Alberto Martinez, Chief Systems Officer of the Bystronic Group, gifted Mr. Ola Hermansson, Division CEO of Truck & Trailer Equipment of VBG, the traditional Swiss cowbell — a symbolic gesture celebrating this new milestone in VBG’s industrial journey.

EICA is located about ten miles south of Halmstad in the countryside. Mikael Carlsson's father Einar started the company here in 1957 and from the beginning the focus was on various types of healthcare furniture.

End of January, Bystronic completed the acquisition of the Tools for Materials Processing division of the US company Coherent Corp.

Widal Industri AB was founded in 2007. The company is located in Getinge, currently has 20 employees and a turnover of 40 million. The contract manufacturer usually works in stainless steel and lathes, mills, bends and laser cuts, and helps with both construction and surface treatments of what it manufactures for its customers.

Nitator i Oskarström AB was founded in 1983 by Tage Pettersson, is a family business and is currently run by the third generation. The factory in Oskarström employs 160 people, and the company's second factory in Hylte, 30 kilometers away, employs 60. Sheet metal components of all sizes are manufactured here for the automotive industry. Sheet metal processing, robot welding, painting, laser cutting and construction work are carried out. Turnover is estimated at 700 million.

Balk & Hål AB was founded in 1995. Since 2012, the current owner is Per Lindahl. The company is located just outside Kristianstad and is now housed in premises 3000 square meters under roof. Today, there are 17 employees and a turnover of 27 million. In addition to a genuine love for solving customer problems, a 6000W fiber laser cutting machine and two press brakes from Bystronic also form the heart of the company.

This acquisition will help Bystronic expand into additional attractive growth markets such as medical devices, semiconductors, and general manufacturing. In addition, new laser applications, such as micro material processing, marking, labeling and drilling will be added to the Bystronic portfolio.

Wilfried de Backer has been named Bystronic’s Chief Service Officer, effective October 1, 2025. He succeeds Eamon Doherty, who left the company in early September.
