Sustainability is a business opportunity 

Sustainability has many dimensions, and it represents countless business development and growth opportunities. With our systems, service and software, we are taking a leading role in advancing sustainability and decarbonizing the sheet metal industry.  We are offering more sustainable products and services, and helping our customers be more sustainable beyond boosting their efficiency and productivity. We are implementing ecodesign principles in our product development process, reusing spare parts, refurbishing machines and increasing machine lifetime through engineering solutions that offer extended service lives and reduced defects.  We are accelerating our efforts to improve the energy and resource efficiency of our systems and solutions, avoiding emissions and contributing to a lower-carbon economy.  

Our Ambition  

We are committed to becoming a more sustainable company for the benefit of our employees, our customers, our stakeholders and society. Sustainability focuses on reducing our environmental impact, on providing optimal workplace conditions for our employees and ensuring ethical and comprehensive oversight of our business. This extends back into our supply chain and forward to our customers’ customers.   

Here are our Sustainability ambitions:   

• In 2023, we stepped up our decarbonization efforts. We joined the Science Based Targets initiative and pledged to further reduce our carbon emissions (Scope 1 and 2), as well as those of our suppliers and customers (Scope 3).  By 2030, we aim to reduce our Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions by 42% and our Scope 3 emissions by 25%.  
• We are improving resource efficiency and reducing waste through circular processes – recycling, reusing and repurposing. We are committed to reducing waste by 20% by 2030.  
• On the people side, we are setting goals to increase the diversity of our workforce, particularly the percentage of women in leadership positions. We are investing in more training, talent development and the ISO certifications of plants to ensure safety and environmental progress in the workplace.  We strive to deliver an industry-leading health and safety performance across all our sites.
