With the 3D cutting head, Bystronic is expanding the range of applications of the ByJet Flex. It allows users to convert from 2D to 3D technology on the flexible machine platform at any time.

Continuous height sensing

The 3D cutting head of Bystronic uses continuous height sensing. The cutting head follows the surface of the workpiece to maintain a constant distance between the cutting nozzle and the workpiece. Deviations caused by bent metal sheets or uneven overlying material are automatically corrected.

 
 

Unique 3D kinematics

The special kinematics of the 3D cutting head from Bystronic enable precise pivoting around the A and B axis. Here, the cutting head rotates exclusively around the focal point of the cutting nozzle. This enables a precise cutting process without loss of time and speed.

The ByJet Flex combines 2D and 3D technology on a single platform. The variable 2D-based platform can be upgraded as needed with up to two modular 3D cutting heads. This opens up new business areas for 3D cutting while preserving competitiveness in 2D cutting.

 
 

Flexible replacement

Users can replace cutting heads themselves with little effort. Whenever the use of 3D technology is required, the ByJet Flex can be easily converted. The waterjet cutting system can be equipped with up to two 3D cutting heads operating in parallel. This increases not only the range of applications but also the productivity of the ByJet Flex.

ByMotion

ByMotion lets you safely integrate 3D technology into the ByJet Flex. Whenever the cutting head is replaced, ByMotion automatically detects the newly attached 3D cutting head and adjusts the boundaries of the cutting area to match the movements of the 3D head.

 
 

Bevel Manager

To ensure an easy and error-free pre-cutting process, users can create cutting plans for 3D applications using the Bevel Manager. The software module is precisely tailored to the new 3D cutting head and is integrated into BySoft 7 as a plug-in.
